I have always felt that it is necessary for us to be creative to fulfil our lives.
Creativity makes us happy, it feeds the soul and promotes good health.
It is a need .......
This website was developed by me to fulfil a desire to create in a medium that I had never ventured into before that highlighted my creative loves, joys and passions.
Over the years I have taught, sold and gifted away my creations to those who valued my work to the point I don't have many to show as my own.
Styles have changed over the years, like fashion they complete the full circle in our life time to visit us again and bring us joy.
I have 2 beautiful children for whom I have created many of their clothes and gifts over the years. When times are tough i learnt to make the most of what was around me.
When my sport buff, drumming son was 12 he decided to have a dabble at sewing. Aside from a few wonky seams where the overlocker ate into the fabric as he was too zealous on the pedal, he made a very successful pair of cargo pants. He is still remembered in his year 8 Home Ecc class for being able to sew a "Mean Zip" in his bright orange shag pile pencil case. it was quite cute when he declined to take orders from others in his class as there were just too many.
He is also quite a good cook, I think that was partly driven by his desire to eat and not being satisfied with what was in the cupboard. At one stage he was drumming for 4 bands from "Youth" to "school" and with mates. He is now a very independent young man who with any luck and determination will pass his electrical licence this year. I am very proud of my wonderful son.
My daughter is very creative in other avenues in her life. She loves performance and drama, having just auditioned for a casting company and being interviewed by BTN during a TV presentation course. She has performed in youth and adult pantomimes and productions which require quite a lot of dedication for rehersals.
She is also blitzing the Tech room at school with her metal work and wood work skills. I wish I had that opportunity at her age - it wasn't seen as "a girl" thing back then. She is currently waiting reply for her audition and her first job. She is growing into a beautiful young lady with great insight into others and I am very proud to call her my daughter.
